Al Baraka Islamic Bank organized a training course on sign language for its employees in conjunction with the International Day of Sign Language and as a part of the Bank’s training strategy to develop the capabilities of its frontline employees towards elevating the experience received by its valued customers. The training was delivered by Abeer Saloom, the founder of Ishara Training Corporation, who is considered to be the first coach with hearing impairment in the Arabian Gulf.
Commenting on the training program, Chief Retail Officer of Al Baraka Islamic Bank, Ms. Fatema AlAlawi stated: “In line with the Bank’s strategies to foster a culture of respect towards the requirements of all our customers irrespective of their differently abled status and to strengthen the Bank’s leading role in the field of social responsibility, the training program came as a very necessary step to achieve this goal. This training will make the Bank’s employees, especially those working in customer service, more able to engage in productive and confident conversations when
communicating with people of determination, showing the Bank's commitment towards adopting a coherent culture of support for all members of society”.
